About the Club
Founded in 2008, Lake Norman Soccer Club is the Lake Norman area's first US Club Soccer–registered competitive program. Today 38 teams and a 22-person licensed coaching staff serve player-athletes across Mooresville, Cornelius, Davidson, and Huntersville.
The Lake Norman Soccer Story
The club was built the way families in the Lake Norman area still rely on it: a small founding group of local parents and coaches, a single registered team, and a clear belief that the region deserved a real competitive pathway close to home.
2008
Lake Norman Soccer Club, Inc. was established in 2008 as the Lake Norman area's first US Club Soccer–registered competitive club — a founding affiliate of the regional competitive circuit that today connects clubs across Iredell, Mecklenburg, Lincoln, and Catawba counties.

What started with one team grew into a 38-team program spanning U7 through U19, with boys' and girls' competitive rosters serving player-athletes from Mooresville, Cornelius, Davidson, and Huntersville. Training hubs and partner fields now anchor a full indoor, outdoor, futsal, and goalkeeper pathway across the four-county region.
Today
Today the club operates with a 6-person full-time staff and a 22-person licensed coaching roster — 17 of those coaches hold UEFA or USSF "A"/"B" badges, the highest concentration of top-tier coaching credentials in the Charlotte metro. Every U15–U17 player leaves the program with a Hudl and SportsRecruits profile for college recruitment.

Director of Coaching
USSF "A" Licence · 19 years coaching
Marcus leads the club's age-group curriculum and oversees coach development across all 38 teams. He joined Lake Norman Soccer in 2014 after a decade with a Charlotte-area MLS affiliate's youth system, and was the head coach of the 2023 U15 Boys squad that won the US Club Soccer Southeast Regional Championship.
Girls' Academy Head Coach
UEFA "B" Licence · 11 years coaching
Elena directs the girls' pathway from U11 through U19 and led the U17 Girls squad to the 2024 NCYSA State Cup quarterfinals.
Director of Goalkeeping
USSF "B" Licence · NSCAA GK Level 3
Daniel runs the only dedicated goalkeeper-specific programming in Iredell County, traveling between four training sites each week.
Futsal & Player-Development Lead
USSF "B" Licence · 9 years coaching
Sara coordinates the club's U.S. Youth Futsal national affiliate programming and the U7–U10 developmental phase.

Our Development Philosophy
"We are not here to build trophy cases. We are here to build athletes — patient, brave, technically clean, tactially fluent — who finish their time with us ready for the next level, on the field and off it."
Long-term player development is the club's organizing principle, not a slogan. Every age group trains to a written curriculum designed for the next four years of the player's career — not the next weekend's result. Parents who compare clubs find the difference in the practice plan, the film session, and the way a coach explains a young player's role after a 1–0 win the same way they explain it after a 3–0 loss.
Facilities & Partners
The club's administrative headquarters sits on Langtree Road in Mooresville, with seasonal training on partner grass fields, indoor gym space, and futsal courts across the four-county region.
The club's designated sports-medicine partner provides athletic trainers at major events, return-to-play protocols for all travel teams, and an annual concussion-baseline screening program for travel-roster athletes.
Lake Norman Soccer is a registered member of US Club Soccer and the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association, and a national affiliate club of U.S. Youth Futsal — the three governing bodies that govern our competitive and futsal pathways.
Active community sponsors — including Novant Health, Lake Norman Chrysler, and the Mooresville Convention & Visitor Bureau — underwrite uniforms, tournament travel, and the annual Lake Norman Invitational, a 64-team fall tournament that hosts clubs from North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee.
