Chad Metzler, Executive Director

Chad holds his USSF D License. Chad grew up in Ohio playing premier level soccer for the highly successful Cleveland United Club, as well as spending summers in England where he participated with several professional academies. Chad was recruited to play collegiate soccer at Davidson College (NCAA Division I), where he graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Studio Art, as well as a minor in Bio-Chemistry. Chad joined the Peace Corps, serving two years, in the Republic of Vanauatu in the South Pacific. Chad retured to North Carolina in 2001. 

Prior to LNSC Chad was coaching for North Meck Soccer Club from 2001 - 2008 coaching varoius NCYSA teams at both the Premier and 1st Division level where he won a USYS Presidents Cup, as well as appearing in the Region III Presidents Cup Semi-Final.  In 2008, Chad helped establish the LNSC Eclipse program, which has has at least 1 State Semi-Finalist every year since its inception. Since then he has coached teams that have made several final four appearances in the state cup, as well as several State Runners-Up. Chad has won the NCYSA Premier league 4x, and was promoted into Region III Premier League 2x. Chad has overseen the sending of LNSC teams to some of the top tournaments in the World, including a Dana Cup (Denmark) Championship in 2009, 2013, and 2015. Chad has also coached the girls' soccer program at Davidson Day School where he won 3 consecutive Private/1A State Championships. 

Leslie Gerwitz, Director of Finance and Administration/Head Registrar

Leslie is a Certified Public Accountant with over 25 years of financial experience including eight years of audit experience with the former Big 6 accounting firm Coopers & Lybrand LLC. She is a graduate of University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a BS in Accounting and a BS in Business Administration, with a concentration in finance.  Leslie operated her own accounting and consulting firm for over 17 years.  She has held numerous positions on various Boards of Directors including serving as Treasurer for Lake Norman Soccer Club for three years prior to her hire as a full-time employee of the club.  She is married to an avid sports fan and is the mother of two boys, both of which have played through the LNSC system for over 15 years combined. Leslie brings valuable business experience and accumen to the club, but also a personal point-of-view as a player parent and former team administrator.

Allan Bornkamp, Assistant Director of Finance and Administration/Asst. Registrar

Allan holds a USSF E License, Youth Module, and National Youth License. Allan played youth soccer at various levels from age 6 to 18 in northern New Jersey.  He was a recreation soccer coach in the Lake Norman area for 6 years.  Allan has coached Challenge and Classic girls' teams for Lake Norman Soccer Club for the past 5 years. 

Trish Hughes, Director of Club Operations & Tournaments

Patricia Hughes served as the Associate Director of Athletics for Internal Operations at the University of New Haven, and prior to UNH she served as the Assistant Athletic Director for External Relations at the University of Montevallo.  She has served two separate terms as the South Region Chair of the NCAA Division II Soccer Committee and has also been both Vice Chair and Chair of the NCAA Division II National Soccer Committee.
Hughes was also the head women's soccer coach at Montevallo from 2001-11. She was chosen by her peers as the Gulf South Conference and NSCAA South Region Coach of the Year in 2007, leading the Falcons to a conference championship and advancing to the NCAA National Quarterfinals.
A decorated student-athlete at Coker College, the NAIA recognized Hughes with All-America laurels in 1989 and 1991 and she was also an NSCAA All-America selection in 1989 and a four-time NSCAA All-Region pick. The all-time scoring leader, male or female, in Coker history, Hughes became the first women's soccer student-athlete to be inducted into the Coker College Athletics Hall of Fame in 2003.  Hughes was a member of the Republic of Ireland Senior Women's National Team from 1985-90 and captained the U18 Republic of Ireland Women's National Team from 1985-87.
