Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) Tryouts / ETA

Women's Premier Soccer League and Elite Training Academy (E.T.A.)

Open Tryout 2017 Season

Lake Norman Soccer Club will be fielding a women’s team in the Women’s Premier Soccer League. This is our second year in the program.  The WPSL is the largest competitive women’s league in the country and has official division 2 status for women’s soccer in the United States.

The team will train from mid May until mid to late July for three nights per week and participate in a ten game season with teams from Huntersville, Greensboro, Oak City (Raleigh), Charleston and Hilton Head.  The team will train in the evenings to avoid heat and work conflicts.

This past season was very successful as the Lake Norman Eclipse advanced to the Regional finals in our inaugural season, and featured a mixture of college athletes, former collegiate athletes and current high school aged LNSC players.

We will be holding OPEN tryouts for all interested female players who are currently 16 years or older (on or before May 1, 2017) . Current and former college players are welcome.  We will carry 18-22 players on this year's main roster.

TRYOUTS  - When and Where?

Tryouts will held at Mazeppa Road Park in Mooresville, NC (645 Mazeppa Road, Mooresville, NC 28115) on April 1 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.  Players wishing to tryout need to register in advance online at the Lake Norman Soccer Club website, www.lakenormansoccer.com.  All players interested in being considered are encouraged to attend the tryout session. Players who cannot attend should still register online and send an email with their intentions and if requested, a soccer resume, to Chad Metzler at cmetzler@lakenormansoccer.com.

There will be a $25 tryout fee for all players wishing to be considered. Players selected to the main roster will pay $175 additional fees.  Players who are not offered a spot on the main roster will be able to participate in the Elite Training Academy (ETA).  The cost will protect the college players' eligibility and allow us to adequately staff and run the program.  For main roster players, all travel expenses and hotels (when needed) will be covered.  Uniforms will be provided

This summer, for the fourth year in a row, Lake Norman Soccer Club will offer the Elite Training Academy for Senior Girls Players who want to raise their level of play, push their fitness, and get training and playing experience for future college soccer careers. The program is a training platform and open to all Elite level players and recent LNSC graduates born in 2002 or earlier.

The ETA will run from mid May until mid/late July. The group will train three nights per week in the evenings. The ETA group will train in conjunction with and at times along side the WPSL team – this is a fantastic opportunity for players to work in a higher level atmosphere and push themselves – this program is not for players who do not want to work hard and expand their ability.

Players interesting in participating in the ETA should go online at lakenormansoccer.com and sign up for the program. The cost of the summer’s program is shown below (there is no prorating fees for this program, sorry.)

The ETA group also serves as the reserve squad for our WPSL team, Lake Norman Eclipse. At times, players will get “called up” or invited to travel with or participate in the WPSL team ‘s games. When a player is invited to participate with the WPSL, there is no additional fee.

Any player who is 16 years old or older by May 1, 2017 may tryout for the WPSL team outright by signing up for the WPSL tryouts online at www.lakenormansoccer.com and paying the $25 tryout fee. We will invite 18-22 main roster players and in the past, several current high school aged LNSC players have been placed on the WPSL team.
