Women's Premier Soccer League and Elite Training Academy (E.T.A.)

2018 Season

This summer Lake Norman Soccer Club will again be hosting our WPSL team as well as our Elite Training Academy (ETA).  All are an excellent way for collegiate athletes, former college players and future college stars to maintain and improve their touch, skills and fitness throughout the summer. Below is a summary of our offerings.

WPSL – Lake Norman Eclipse

For the third summer in a row, our team will compete in the Carolina’s Division of the WPSL. This is an amateur team in a semi-professional level league. The team will train regularly for nine weeks and play in ten matches, plus post season play, if qualified. The Carolina’s Division will include the following teams: Asheville City FC, Beaufort SC, Carolina Rapids, Charleston Fleet, Greensboro Dynamo, Discoveries SC, and Oak City FC. Games will be played from late May to mid July.  An initial roster of 18 players will be selected and then players will be added as needed and appropriate throughout the season from our reserve team.

Lake Norman Eclipse II

This summer we will also be fielding a reserve team. The reserve team will play a schedule of three to four games, as well as acting as the WPSL’s training opponent. Players will train and play at a high level and some will be asked to join the senior WPSL team as the summer progresses.  An initial roster of 18 players will be selected for the reserve team and players may be invited to join the reserve team from the ETA as the summer progresses. The team will train from mid May until mid July.

Elite Training Academy

The ETA is a professional-level training-only environment for high school aged LNSC players to participate in two to three times per week and raise their level throughout the summer. At times, ETA players will be invited to join the WPSL and WPSL reserve teams in training and on occasion in games. The ETA is a great way for players to develop their skills and improve their fitness throughout the summer.

Elite Training Academy for Goal Keepers

The ETA GK is a specialized training platform for Elite level goal keepers looking to perfect their craft. Players will train in GK specific sessions three times per week and also be invited to train in some team sessions during the week with the WPSL and WPSL Reserves.

Every player will receive two uniquely numbered WPSL jerseys, one pair of Nike shorts, and two pairs of Nike socks. Team travel cost, league fees, etc. will be included for all players who are asked to participate in a game – this may, at times, include van rentals and hotel nights. Players must pay for their own food while on travel trips.

Payments are broken down as follows:

          $75 at time of registration

          $150 due April 1

          $150 due May 1

Registration

Players who are 15 or older may register. Players should go online to register for the program. An initial sign-up fee of $75 will be charged at the time of registration. Players must go online and pay the remainder of their balance BEFORE the first training session. This cost may be broken into payments upon request. Current LNSC Elite players, former LNSC Eclipse players, and returning LNSC WPSL players will be automatically accepted into the ETA/WPSL program. Other players may be asked to provide more information or attend the first week’s training before being accepted into the ETA/WPSL program. Players who are not accepted into the program will be refunded in full.

Team Selection

The WPSL and WPSL Reserve rosters will be created by the WPSL staff. Some players will be placed on rosters based on their history with the program throughout the spring. Other players will be placed on rosters during the first week of training (this will be a special schedule).  Rosters will remain open and fluid throughout the season based on player performance and availability.
